INTRODUCTION

Last week, John talked about the throne and the one that sat on it (Revelation 4). In this chapter, Apostle John continues in his vision. He saw the one that sat on the throne with a scroll and at first no one was qualified to open the scroll but thanks be to God who sacrifice His Only Son, Jesus. He is worthy to open the scroll.

THE LESSON EXPLAINED

A. The Sealed Scroll (Revelation 5:1-8)
John described the scroll on God’s right hand. It is sealed seven times (refer representing the seven churches). It seems like a hopeless situation as no one was qualified to open the scroll which made John to weep.

DISCUSSION TIME

1. Why was there no one worthy to break the seal to open the scroll?

B. Blessing, Glory, Honour Forever (Revelation 5:9-10)
One of the twenty-four elders told John not to weep as the Lion of Judas has conquered and is worthy to open the scroll and break the seals. The hopeless situation turned hopeful, led the elders, the four beasts and angels singing praises of blessing, glory and honour forever unto the Lamb.

DISCUSSION TIME

1. No one can be righteous through work but through Christ.

* Christian worship should be an expression of joy by the power of His resurrection.
* Judgement of God on sin and wickedness is sure (Rev.5:1-2)
* Christ paid the supreme price for our redemption.
* As believers, we must constantly give praises and adoration to Christ who is the slayed Lamb.
* Every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea and all that is in them will join in the song of praise someday.

Memory Verse:

In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" (Revelation 5:12).
